What is Diamond Painting?

Diamond art is the relaxing activity of painting with `diamonds` (aka drills), placing shiny plastic circles or squares carefully on an adhesive canvas to create a picture. A mix of cross stitch and paint by numbers, but with less mess.

Getting Started with Diamond Painting Kits

Kits come in a vast array of sizes from keyring to full wall coverings and come with everything required to complete the picture. All kits include the numbered canvas, diamonds, a pen and more.

The canvas will arrive rolled up. First flatted the canvas by placing with a heavy weight (e.g. books) on top for a few days. When flat, remove the plastic film from the canvas to reveal the adhesive below. It can help to apply masking tape to edges, securing the canvas to the table. Each symbol or number on the canvas represents a color, use the key to find the correct color and begin placing your diamonds!

Only peel back the adhesive film where you are planning to work to avoid the canvas drying out. Some people like to complete a section at a time while others prefer to do each color separately. Tweezers are useful to gently remove any pieces placed in the wrong section.

Kits come with many more diamonds than you will need to complete the picture, so don't worry about losing any.
